For more than 50 years, a knock at the door has meant more than a meal for homebound neighbors across Central Texas. A planned gift keeps that knock coming for neighbors you'll never meet but will help feed.

Find the Gift That Fits

Most legacy gifts fall into one of four types. Each has its own page with simple steps.

If you want to...

Consider

Leave a gift without changing anything about your finances today

A gift in your will or a beneficiary designation.

Give now from an IRA and lower this year's taxable income

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA.

Give flexibly from a charitable account you already use

A donor advised fund.

Make sure your loved ones are provided for first

A percentage or residual gift in your will.

Four ways to leave a legacy

Gifts in Your Will or Trust
Gifts in Your Will or Trust

The most common way to leave a legacy. Name us for a specific amount, a percentage, or whatever remains after you have provided for the people you love.

Beneficiary Designations

Name us as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or life insurance. It takes one form and no attorney.

Gifts From Your IRA

If you are 70½ or older, you can give directly from your IRA, often tax-free, and put a required withdrawal to good use.

Donor Advised Funds

Already give through a donor advised fund? Recommend a grant to Meals on Wheels Central Texas today, or name us to receive the remaining balance of your fund.

Not sure where to start? Create your will for free.

To help you begin, we offer FreeWill, a trusted online tool that walks you through writing your will or trust in about twenty minutes. You can use it on its own, or to organize your wishes before you finalize them with an attorney.

Create Your Free Will

Create a legally valid will online at no cost. In just a few simple steps, you can protect the people you love, make your wishes known, and create a lasting legacy. You can also choose to include a gift to Meals on Wheels Central Texas, helping ensure future neighbors receive the meals, care, and connection they need.
